SSC increases sponsorship of YMCA Youth & Government Program
Bellingham, WA – SSC has increased its yearly donation to the YMCA Youth & Government program this year to $1,000 and is a main sponsor of the Youth & Government Governor’s Reception in Olympia during this next legislative session. SSC’s donation will be matched by a generous donor.
According to Sarah Clinton, Executive Director of the Seattle YMCA, the Youth Legislature delegation at the Whatcom Family YMCA is thriving as are the Mock Trial programs at Meridian, Lynden, and Sehome high schools. She also said there is a new Mock Trial program at Windward High in Ferndale and that the Y is supporting students at WWU working to form a chapter of the new, national College Youth in Government program – the first chapter on the west coast. One WWU student will attend the national conference in January. To learn more about the Youth & Government program click here.
