SSC funds Kevlar vests for local police K-9 squad
All of Whatcom County's police dogs will now be outfitted with Kevlar vests, thanks to a donation pledged by Sanitary Service Company (SSC).
Keeping K-9s in Kevlar raised enough money this year to get two Whatcom County sheriff's dogs and one Bellingham police dog in custom bulletproof vests, at a cost of over $2,400 each. After a ceremony celebrating those fundraising efforts, Paul Razore, president of SSC, Inc., contacted the non-profit and offered to buy vests for other three police dogs in Whatcom County.
Tax deducted donations ( for vests for the 100+ K-9s on the list) can be sent to:

In addition, any WECU branch will accept donations to the Keeping K-9s in Kevlar account.
