Ask SSC Q. I have contact lens blister pack containers. They are made out of plastic. Can I recycle these?
A: Dear Clarissa,
Yes. Both the foil top and plastic tray are recyclable in your bottles, cans and plastic containers recycling bin or Toter.
Note: the carton the lenses come in can be recycled with scrap paper and the box they are shipped in can be flattened and recycled with cardboard.
Other contact lens related products that can be recycled include:
Cleaners / Solution Bottles, Eye Drops, and Carton Packaging – recycle empty plastic bottles with bottles, cans and plastic containers and the paper carton they are packaged in with scrap paper.
