Disposal fees increasing; SSC files garbage rate change for unincorporated Whatcom County customers
Bellingham, WA - SSC has submitted a proposed garbage rate change with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (WUTC) for residential and commercial customers in unincorporated Whatcom County. The proposed increase is approximately 1% and would cover increased disposal fees being charged at both Recomp and RDS transfer stations. If the proposed rates are approved by the WUTC, they would go into effect July 1, 2012. Customers affected by this proposed increase will see a notice on their June bills.
