Bellingham Farmers Market  - SSC supports the Bellingham Farmers Market and provides garbage and recycling services during the market season which runs April through December at Depot Market Square in downtown Bellingham. Recycle cans, glass and plastic containers (cups and lids too!) in the marked blue Toters. Compost food and paper products like cups, plates, bowls, napkins and paper towels in the marked green Toters. Many market vendors are using biodegradable plastics this season - so place corn-based utensils and cups in with food and paper. Thank you for recycling! EnviroStars  - The EnviroStars Program was created in King County, Washington in 1995, as a service of the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program. It has since been adopted across the region in Jefferson, Kitsap, Pierce, Spokane, and Whatcom Counties. The mission of EnviroStars is to provide assistance and incentives for smaller businesses to reduce hazardous materials and waste, in order to protect public health, municipal systems, and the environment. The Hub "Pedal Project"  -The Hub is a non-profit, community based, bicycle shop dedicated to inspiring love for bicycles for anyone who has love to give. Located in Bellingham, WA the majority of bikes sold here are bikes once forgotten but given new life through the generous donations of the members of the community and the hard work, tender love, and care of the staff. A large section of the shop is dedicated to open shop space to anyone who wishes to service their own bike. Donations are accepted by the hour. Tools are provided. Donations of the monetary variety and the bicycle variety are greatly appreciated. Hours are seasonal. Call ahead 255-2072.
